At the coastal Marsa Matrouh,
located 300km west of Alexandria, ( which was Cleopatras
favourite resort ) and close to Sibas oasis, the family
built the Hotel Zephyros ( 2
) which had 32 rooms.
For 20 years business flourished and succeeded in the constantly
increasing economical and intellectual Greek colony.
Unfortunately the Nassers regime in the 1965 led to
the closing of the business, and the family, as well as
thousands Greeks, had to leave the country.
